The following requirements apply:• Make sure that all safety guards are in place and secure.• Make sure that equipment is in place so that the unit cannot roll or fall over during themaintenance process.• Make sure that you have a clear path of retreat.• Never work alone.• Check the explosion risk before you weld or use electrical hand tools.• Make sure that the work area is well-ventilated before you open any vent or drainvalves, remove any plugs, or disassemble the unit.• Do not open any vent or drain valves or remove any plugs while the system ispressurized. Make sure that the pump is isolated from the system and that pressure isrelieved before you disassemble the pump, remove plugs, or disconnect piping.• Depressurize and empty the coolant system for T and Z installations, and allinstallations with external cooling.
