Methods: From March 2018 to June 2019, consecutive patients with first-episode cerebral infarction within 12 hours of symptom onset were enrolled in this one-year prospective cohort study. Serum levels of BNP, cTn-T, and cTn-I were collected within 12 hours of onset. The location of infarction was classified as anterior circulation ischaemia (ACI) and posterior circulation ischaemia (PCI) according to MRI. Then, according to modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score at 90 days after onset, anterior and posterior circulation infarction cases were respectively divided into a good prognosis group (mRS score 0 to 2) and poor prognosis group (mRS score 3 to 6). General state of health and results of laboratory examinations and other auxiliary examinations of all patients were recorded. Single factor analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used for assessing the relationship between serum level of BNP, troponin and functional outcome.
