Thank you for telling me about your depression. I was first diagnosed with it in 1987, when I was finishing my BA in US-Japan Studies, and counting down the days until I moved to Japan. Everything was going great! In English, we say "cocooning", like a moth, before it turns into a butterfly. This means because you are depressed, you don't want to go out, or do anything. Of course here in Japan, I sometimes don't want to go out because I will only buy food or ice cream or beer! :)
