Nike’s Reinvent Rotation spreadsheet tool is designed to support factory Motor Energy Management Best Practices Planning activities. The tool allows users to create an inventory of low-voltage, 0.75 kW to 250 kW three-phase, constant speed AC motors. The inventory includes information such as motor location, operating conditions, driven equipment, and annual operating hours; nameplate information, and power measurements to support motor repair/replace decision-making. This information is then used to determine the load imposed on the motor by the driven equipment, calculate annual energy consumption and operating costs; and to determine energy savings and simple payback given that the motor is immediately replaced by a Premium Efficiency (IE3) motor or is replaced upon failure. Savings and costs for motors meeting plant cost-effectiveness criteria are summarized and a list of motors that are recommended for replacement is created so that motors can be immediately replaced or tagged for replacement upon failure.
