If the signer is submitting an application through EFS-Web as PDF files, he or she may apply either a handwritten signature in compliance with 37 CFR 1.4(d)(1) or an S-signature in compliance with 37 CFR 1.4(d)(2) before scanning the document or converting it to a PDF file. Alternatively, correspondence submitted through EFS-Web may be signed by a graphic representation of a handwritten signature as provided for in 37 CFR 1.4(d)(1) or a graphic representation of an S-signature as provided for 37 CFR 1.4(d)(2).
