Critics also pointed out how ambitious projects designed around mastering expertise and knowledge about a topic might be tainted in said ‘expertise’, taking into consideration the origin of the ‘expert’ knowledge being fed to the machines: “the role of the all-male-all-white-centuries-old-academia in defining what knowledge is valuable for a machine to master and what is expertise altogether” (Ibid).All of these characteristics have to be put in conversation with the fact that we are at the very early stages of AI. However, even at its infancy, AI and machine learning are already impacting the way we function as a society, not only in the technological aspect but social, health, military and employment as well.
