Sixty and thirty patients were allocated into the bleomycin group and the 5-FU group, respectively. There was a statistically significant differencein the mean percentage change of VSS before and after treatment between bleomycin-treated patients and 5-FU-treated patients (SD: 1.37, 95% CI: 0.88-1.85, P < .0001), demonstrating that the bleomycin group showed more effectiveness for treating keloid and hypertrophic scar than the 5-FU group.
