Get the masked adjusted and get your kid used to it at home, and you won’t have a fight when you go out. To help normalize, Dr. Stolberg suggests trying to make it fun. “Let them pick the mask they like best and maybe even decorate it. While you are out, point out all the wonderful masks that people are wearing. There are lots of different styles and designs and by pointing out other peoples masks it normalizes the act of wearing the mask for the child. By making it a game, kids are sheltered from the stressful reasons we have to wear masks in the first place.”
