A container has to be inspected prior to loading, for holes and/or rusty spots, which may permit water to enter the interior of the container and cause damage to cartons and merchandise. A standard check may indicate whether a hole is in the container. Enter the container, close the door and see whether light enters the interior. Please take pictures of the container prior and at the end of loading. If a container is damaged, unclean or has dangerous cargo placards of previous voyages, the supplier has to refuse the container. Please do not accept containers older than 8 years,(the year of manufacture should not be older than 8 years).• No glue, tape or paper on container walls (inside and outside)• No protrusions, nails, screws sticking out of the container floor, sides or roof• No contaminants / residues container must be odor free• Very clean floors, stains if any, no transfer to internal packing units• Vents are not to be covered with tape and screens must be intact• Container must be dry, including wooden floor• It must be free of any insects or plagues (beetles, flies, mosquitos etc.) Damage/wetnessIn order to avoid wet cartons and wet damaged merchandise through condensed water at the time of arrival, we suggest to leave a gap of approx. 20 cm between the container roof and the loaded top carton layer. This gap in between allows air to circulate and helps to avoid development of condensed water. Any plastic packaging inside the container should be avoided.
