Following on a conversation with Goga his finance manager Koba Beridze, has an offer from other company and is resigning.Koba joined us shortly after rebranding and he is managing his department very successfully, he also studies ACCA which helps us a lot to maintain our books according to international financial standards.Our program FINA is not that straight forward and will be very tough to teach it to someone new in short period of time, also challenge will be to find someone with similar experience on exciting salary, which means if Koba resigns we will encounter many problems on finance side.Based on all above I would like to make a counter offer and would like to hear your opinion.I as a hotel manager running this hotel for 2.5 years without deputy, in our structure there is no such position as second in charge, whenever I am not around I am still leaving Koba as that person but officially he is an HOD as everybody else and does not have a mandate, which sometimes is causing problems and misunderstandings in the team.Now Koba is earning 1800GEL net and as you know he was promised 200GEL increase in November but it was postponed until 2020 budget is approved by all parties.My idea is that to increase his salary by another 500GEL (2500GEL net in total) but with salary also increase his responsibilities and make him my deputy.Please let me know your thoughts considering urgency of a matter and if everyone agrees we have to hand him official letter that all above changes will take place from 1st of January 2020.
