Cleaning Tools and Supplies:It is management’s responsibility to ensure effective control of sanitation tools and containers to prevent cross contamination of food products and product contact surfaces/zones in the production areas of the plant. Management should establish the minimum requirements for control of sanitation tools which includes color coding, material selection, and storage.Tool Design:oSanitation tools shall be minimally absorbent and should be chemically compatible with the cleaning chemicals they are being used with.oTo minimize the risk of improper tools being used tools shall be purchased from reputable manufacturers of tools for food plant sanitation.
