Applying the CSP for compounds with incongruent dissolution and limited solubility is a challenge . For example, the CSP has been studied for BaTiO3 nanoparticles as an incongruent dissolution system in water. In this system, Ba2+ ions dissolve incongruently with respect to Ti4+ ions. This incongruent dissolution led to an amorphous TiO2 layer around BaTiO3 nanoparticles. Significant densification and dielectric properties as good as those samples sintered with other techniqueswere achieved by using appropriate aqueous suspension of Ba(OH)2/TiO2 as a sintering additive. In fact, Ba(OH)2/TiO2 aqueous suspension suppresses the incongruent dissolution of Ba2+ ions from the surface of BaTiO3 nanoparticles since there is enough Ba2+ in the aqueous suspension in saturated state.13
